Vocational and Technical College

Vocational and Technical College of Yunnan Normal University was founded in 1995, which was one of the earliest among all the universities in Yunnan Province. In July 2000, the college has successfully satisfied the qualification assessment for higher vocational and technical education by Yunnan Department of Education.

Having good faculty staff who either have expertise in teaching or in management, the The college began to offer higher vocational and technical programme in 1997, and then undergraduate programme in 2008. In September 2008, in cooperation with China University of Electronic and Scientific Technology, the college has initiated Master of Software Engineering, which has so far enrolled over 220 candidates.

The college now hosts postgraduate, undergraduate programmes, vocational training, and technical appraisal. It also possesses one training centre, Yunnan No. 129 Vocational and Technical Appraisal Agency, which was accreditated by Yunnan Department of Labor and Social Security. In 2009, the college was accrediated as one of the thirteen training bases for migrant farmers by Yunnan Federation of Trade Unions. It is one of the top two training bases for psychological counseling and appraisal. In addition, the college has two campuses in Qujing and Honghe Prefecture in Yunnan Province, and has now good reputation for its excellence in self-study examination training.

To nurture various high quality talents, the college has offered more than ten vocational and undergraduate programmes for preschool education, public relation and etiquette, tourism and hotel management, advertisement design and making, applied chemistry (pharmacy), applied electrionical technology. Under the joint support of several enterprises and kindergartens, the college has set up a few training and practice bases, which fully meet the needs of teaching.

The college, backed by Yunnan Normal University, will aspire to develop all round and be committed to making more contributions to the social and economic development in Yunnan province.
